阿加特四重奏成立于2016年，其名字来源于世界上最美丽的最美丽的室内乐作品之一，约翰内斯·勃拉姆斯的《G大调第二弦乐六重奏 Op.36》，这是他向生平第二位恋人——阿加特·冯·西博尔德致敬的作品。

此外，阿加特四重奏乐于与优秀的音乐家及室内乐团合作互动，诸如帕胡德、恩里科·帕切、埃里克·勒萨奇、弗兰克·布拉雷、亚历山大·西特科维茨基、马克·丹尼尔、克罗诺斯弦乐四重奏、法国艾班弦乐四重奏、莫迪利亚尼四重奏和耶路撒冷弦乐四重奏等等。

现已与弗兰克·布拉雷和加百利·乐·麦加杜尔合作录制的专辑《激情音乐会》，并于 2024 年3月1日发布；目前阿加特四重奏是Fondation Singer-Polignac驻创艺术家；同时也是 ProQuartet常驻艺术家以及La Brèche音乐节联合艺术家。
